Tay Do University strengthens academic connections, promotes research cooperation domestically and internationally

On December 19, 2025, Tay Do University collaborated with Nam Can Tho University and Phan Thiet University to organize the International Scientific Conference “Development of Science and Technology and Innovation in the New Period”.

The conference took place at Tay Do University, an activity within the framework of Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Week in Can Tho City, 2025.

Attending the conference, from the leadership of Can Tho City, was Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, along with representatives of Departments, Committees, and Sectors. From Tay Do University, there was Dr. - Lawyer Nguyen Tien Dung, Chairman of the University Council; Meritorious Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Khac Thuong - Vice Chairman of the University Council, Vice Rector; People's Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Van Thom - Member of the University Council; Meritorious Physician Prof. Dr. Tran Cong Luan - Rector; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector along with staff, lecturers, and students.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Meritorious Physician Prof. Dr. Tran Cong Luan - Rector of Tay Do University said: “This conference has special significance for Tay Do University in the context of the university heading towards its 20th anniversary of formation and development. During the past journey, the university has always identified scientific research, innovation, and international cooperation as important pillars parallel to training and community service.”

In addition, coordinating the organization of the Conference along with Nam Can Tho University and Phan Thiet University demonstrates the commitment in connecting academia, sharing knowledge, and improving research quality. Contributing to meeting the development requirements of Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, said: “Can Tho City is the Science - Education center of the Mekong Delta region. The city clearly identifies developing science and technology associated with innovation and digital transformation as a strategic direction to improve growth quality, develop high-tech agriculture, health, education, digital economy, and smart urban governance. The conference is an important academic forum, gathering many prestigious scientists at home and abroad, with practical research contents, attached to the prioritized fields of the city and the region. I believe that the exchange results at the Conference will contribute to promoting applied research, technology transfer, and high-quality human resource development for Can Tho and the Mekong Delta”.
