The birth of Tay Do University is the crystallization of the aspiration to build a quality higher education environment right in the Southwest region – a land rich in developmental potential but facing many challenges in high-quality human resources.

Throughout the 20-year journey of construction and maturity, Tay Do University has achieved important achievements, affirming its prestige and training quality in the Vietnamese higher education system. Notably, Tay Do University was honored to receive the Third-class Labor Medal awarded by the President – an noble prize recognizing outstanding contributions in scientific research and training high-quality human resources for Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region. In addition, the University continues to be accredited for quality in many training majors; officially became an associate member of the Southeast Asian higher education quality assurance network; entered the Top 100 Vietnamese universities according to the VNUR 2025 rankings.
