Introduction to Tourism
The undergraduate Tourism training program at Tay Do University is built to meet the demand for high-quality human resources of the tourism industry – a spearhead sector in Vietnam's economic development. The program not only equips specialized knowledge but also focuses on developing practical skills, helping students confidently enter the labor market.
1. Training Objectives
- Provide in-depth knowledge of the tourism field, including: management, organization, and operation of tourism and travel activities.
- Develop soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, service management, and customer care.
- Train students to have creative thinking, dynamism, and the ability to adapt to a multicultural working environment.
2. Program Content
Students majoring in Tourism will be trained through the main contents:
Basic knowledge: tourism overview, tourism economics, tourism geography, state management of tourism,…
Specialized knowledge: Tourism geography of Vietnam and the world, tour design and operation, Tourism destination management and types of tourism (ecological, cultural, community, sea and island), Vietnamese culture and history for tourism, tour guide operations, practice and experience, internships at tourism companies, travel agencies, hotels, and resorts, participating in field trips to explore famous tourist locations, practical projects such as building tour plans and organizing tourism events.
