"Students of economic law at Tay Do University invited to be speakers at scientific conference again"

After the successful opening in research, marked by a speeche at the seminar held by the Institute of Legislative Studies in Da Lat in July 2016, the group of students majoring in Economic Law at Tay Do University made another remarkable impression in another conference at a higher level and larger scale. It was the international conference on "Comments to the Draft Law on Associations" held by Ho Chi Minh City University of Law with Vietnam Lawyers' Association (under the sponsorship of Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Foundation). The conference started at 7:30 on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Hall A.1002 of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.

This international conference got the attendance of nearly 50 guests, including Prof. Dr. Le Minh Tam - Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Lawyers’ Association; MA. Nguyen Van Hue – Member of Vietnam Lawyers' Association, Lawyer Nguyen Minh Tam - General Editor of Vietnam Lawyers’ Magazine, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Project Manager of Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Southeast Asia - chairmen, managers, general directors, general secretaries of many agencies, businesses, representatives of lawyers’ associations, representatives of political – social associations; teachers; postgraduate, graduate and undergraduate students. The conference consisted of two sessions, and Prof. Dr. Mai Hong Quy presiding in both sessions

In each session, some speeches were delivered, such as: "Keynotes to the conference" by Prof. Dr. Le Minh Tam; "Comments to Orientations for the Law on Associations and some other issues" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Nhiem; "Scopes of Amendment and Objects of the Draft Law on Associations" by Dr. Phan Nhat Thanh; "Policies and Legislation on Associations and Issues for further study to complete the Draft Law on Associations" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Dung; "State Administration of Associations – need for a renewed thinking" by Dr. Cao Vu Minh, ...  

Besides the presentations of the authors with high titles and scientific prestige, there was a presentation by a group of students, entitled "The Need for Enactment of the Law on Associations and some suggestions for the Draft Law on Associations". This presentation’s authors were third-year students majoring in Economic Law at Tay Do University, including: Nguyen Duy Tan, Nguyen Thi Cam Thi, Pham Bich Tuyen and Pham Thuy Vy. To achieve an honorable ticket to this international scientific conference, the students had made a lot of efforts and received the attention and support from the faculty leaders of Basic Sciences at Tay Do University. This event indicated that the Faculty of Economic Law of Tay Do University made great efforts and gained certain achievements beyond expectations in spite of its young age in comparison with the one in other  educational institutions.

Finally, the conference ended successfully after nearly four hours of discussion from the speeches and the comments of experts and experienced researchers. As planned, the Draft Law on Associations would be considered at the second session of the National Assembly - Convocation XIV(opened at the end of October 2016). Hopefully, some suggestions in the presentation of the group of students majoring Economic Law at Tay Do University will partly help the Law on Associations to be soon approved by the National Assembly and meet the expectations of society.
