"FACULTY OF FUNDAMENTAL SCIENCE"

INTRODUCTION

Faculty of Fundmental Science established in 2008 was the first link of chain in Tay Do University educating process.

In the beginning, the Faculty has 4 departments (Dep. Mathematcs, Physics, Chemistry and Law). From 2014 to the present in the Faculty there are 4 departments: Maths, Physics, Political Theory and Physical Education.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 The Faculty teaches the elementary subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Political Theory and  Physical Education. In addition, the Faculty has the supplementary  courses, organizes tournaments and  coaches some sports teams.

ORANIZING STRUCTURE AND ACHIEVEMENTS

• The Faculty dean board: Dean Ph.D. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. To Anh Dung.
• Besides educating task, teachers simultaneously participate in making scientific researches, improving qualifications and other activities:
• Publish scientific national and international articles; perform several Tay Do university and VNU-HCMCity scientific researching projects.
• 10 MSc theses were successfully completed beneath the instruction of Faculty’s teachers; 01 PhD thesis are in terminating route.
• 14 teachers of the Faculty succeed in their MSc theses and 02 PhD theses defense.
• Department of Physical Education stands behind the soccer team achievements: won the second prize in Cuu Long River Delta Tournament; Gold medal of Male Football, Silver medal of Futsal in Can Tho Student Tournament.
• 02 teachers of the Faculty won the championship in Officers Beauty Pageant.
• Faculty of Fundamental Science was awarded honourable titles below: Good Labor titles, Excellent Labor titles.

VISION

• Strives for becoming an educational unit having modern, creative and high efficiency working manner.
• Determines team developing strategies in medium term and long term, with purpose: build high-qualified teaching staffs and specialists for advancing educational and scientific researching competence of the Faculty.
• Concentrates on students in educating process and innovates teaching methods habitually.
• Enhancing  qualifications on par with region’s pace.
